La forma del naso, secondo alcuni, è quella peculiarità che ci dà carattere e conferisce al nostro volto un aspetto ben preciso. Certo è indubbio che, trovandosi proprio al centro del viso, il naso con la sua forma giochi un ruolo fondamentale nel condizionare le sembianze di tutto il viso.

Anatomia e forma del naso
Il naso è una struttura molto complessa, formata da una parte ossea e da una parte cartilaginea, oltre a svariate terminazioni nervose, vasi sanguigni e linfatici.
In anatomia, il naso si suddivide in due parti:
- naso esterno, detto anche piramide nasale, che comprende parti come il dorso e la punta, responsabili dell’aspetto del naso
- naso interno, ovvero quella parte di naso che non vediamo, che si compone delle due cavità nasali, della regione respiratoria e della regione olfattiva
Concentriamoci sul naso esterno e proviamo a capire come è composto.
Anatomicamente si possono individuare 5 regioni del naso esterno: radice, ponte, dorso nasale, che da la forma al profilo, le due ali nasali e la punta, composte di cartilagini. Tra queste la cartilagine settale e le cartilagini alari, anche queste responsabili della forma del naso, e la columella, la parte che separa la narice destra dalla narice sinistra.
Come cambia il naso negli anni?
Molte persone sono convinte che il naso continui a crescere con l’età. Questa che è, chiaramente, solo una diceria, affonda tuttavia le radici in una serie di cambiamenti reali che interessano il naso nel corso del tempo.
Vediamo quali sono.
- Il naso, come tutte le parti del corpo, cresce durante lo sviluppo, per raggiungere le sue dimensioni definitive intorno ai 18 anni di età.
- La sua forma evolve nel tempo in maniera significativa in base alla genetica: il naso dei bambini è quasi sempre piccolo e lineare, mentre crescendo assume contorni definiti e caratteristici. Anche eventuali traumi possono influenzare la forma finale del naso.
- Con il tempo anche il naso, e in particolare la punta, subisce gli effetti della forza di gravità: il risultato è una lenta ma inesorabile discesa verso il basso che va sotto il nome di ptosi, termine che indica comunemente una discesa dei tessuti, come avviene nel caso di glutei e mammelle. Per il naso il processo è più lento, dato che è sostenuto da una struttura osseo-cartilaginea: i primi cambiamenti iniziano ad intravedersi dopo i 50 anni.
- Il passare del tempo e il fisiologico invecchiamento modificano anche il contesto in cui il naso è inserito: con l’aumentare degli anni guance e zigomi tendono a svuotarsi, cadendo anch’essi verso il basso e “scavando” il volto. Questo fa emergere maggiormente il naso, facendolo apparire più grande. Ecco il perché della credenza popolare che il naso continui a crescere per tutta la vita.
