La prima visita dal chirurgo plastico è forse il momento più importante di tutto il percorso che porta un paziente a scegliere di effettuare un intervento di chirurgia estetica.
Si tratta infatti del primo contatto con il chirurgo estetico, il momento in cui il paziente può conoscere, imparare a fidarsi e scegliere di affidarsi al medico per migliorare il proprio aspetto.
Molti pazienti arrivano alla prima visita in chirurgia estetica agitati, confusi e pieni di dubbi, perché se da un lato è forte il desiderio di liberarsi di un inestetismo e del disagio che questo comporta, dall’altro spesso è forte anche la paura di sottoporsi all’operazione.
Le domande dei pazienti alla prima visita in chirurgia estetica sono le più svariate:

Prima visita dal chirurgo plastico: come si svolge
Un buon chirurgo plastico sa per prima cosa mettere a suo agio il paziente.
All’inizio del consulto quindi abitualmente si chiedono le generalità del paziente e la ragione che lo ha portato ad effettuare la prima visita in chirurgia estetica, ovvero l’entità dell’inestetismo da trattare.
Dopo questa prima fase di consulenza vis a vis in cui si discorre con il paziente assumendo al contempo informazioni sul suo stato di salute (anamnesi), il paziente viene fatto accomodare sul lettino e si passa ad effettuare la visita vera e propria.
La visita specialistica è indispensabile per accertare lo stato di salute del paziente ed effettuare una valutazione sincera e chiara in merito alla fattibilità dell’operazione.
Una volta appurato che ci siano questi presupposti, si passa all’individuazione della tecnica di intervento più adeguata (ad esempio, solo per la mastoplastica additiva esistono decine di tecniche), che dipenderà in parte dal risultato che il paziente vuole ottenere, ma che è una scelta che spetta unicamente al chirurgo e non può essere contraddetta dal paziente.
Infine, il chirurgo illustra tutto ciò che riguarda il pre e il post operatorio:
- Che risultato finale aspettarsi dopo l’intervento
- In quanto tempo sarà visibile la pienezza del risultato
- Quali saranno i tempi di recupero per la ripresa delle normali attività quotidiane, lavorative e sportive
- Quali comportamenti bisognerà tenere prima e dopo l’intervento (ad esempio non fumare, evitare sforzi etc.)
Molto importante è mettere in luce anche quelle che potrebbero essere le eventuali complicanze: per quanto siano rare, purtroppo non si possono mai escludere del tutto ed è fondamentale che il paziente ne sia cosciente.
È davvero importante anche far comprendere al paziente che non possono essere date delle garanzie certe circa il risultato, in quanto la medicina si basa su probabilità che, in base alla valutazione oggettiva dello specialista, possono rivelarsi più o meno alte e concretizzarsi, quindi, nel risultato desiderato.
Perciò, al paziente viene consegnato anche il Consenso Informato, ovvero un documento da leggere attentamente in cui c’è scritto con chiarezza tutto ciò che concerne la procedura chirurgica e che andrà firmato il giorno dell’operazione.
Infine, si passa ad illustrare i costi dell’intervento, nonché le eventuali possibilità di rateizzazione.
Prima di terminare questa parte della visita, un bravo chirurgo estetico lascia sempre spazio alle domande: queste possono essere di vario genere e riguardare dubbi sulla procedura chirurgica, domande sul consenso informato o sul questioni burocratiche ed economiche.

In conclusione, se non si hanno più dubbi e il paziente desidera iniziare il percorso verso l’intervento di chirurgia estetica, viene preparata la cartella clinica che conterrà:
- i dati del paziente con la sua anamnesi
- gli esami da effettuare/effettuati
le foto pre-operatorie, utili per fare un confronto con l’esito finale
